Done With Chyrp

Yes Paul, I do have blog ADHD. I'm moving back to Wordpress so I've reimported most of my posts into my old blog (Link) which has become my new blog again.

The reason why? Well, really, I found that although chyrp was amazing for me to easily post eventually maintenance became a pain in the @$$. Especially since it was developed as a one man show with unilateral changes causing modules to break and having to be rewritten and botched upgrade paths etc.

So any bets on how long before the ADHD kicks in again?

Wonderland

I was at wonderland this past weekend. It was a good time but there was some Drama! While waiting in a 1.5 hour line for the bat:

As we approached the front of the line, a group of 12 or so people jumped the line and joined 4 of their friends. All of the people behind them (including us) started grumbling.

When they approached the entrance to the ride, the operator told them that line jumping isn't allowed and denied them access to the ride. Here they are approaching the gate:

For the next 15 min the group argued with the operator. Finally, at one point, all the people who jumped the line gave in and left, as they left the entire line cheered. One of the women from the group of line jumpers yelled "shut up white ass" as she left. We were all a little stunned as we observed the line around us containing more non-"white assess" than "white asses." But then I noticed something. Oh my, she was right. They didn't kick them off because they were rude/broke the rules of the park by line jumping. No, it's actually because they weren't white and the park is racist. Observe:

Unfortunately, after a week of intense testing of the service, I can’t recommend it, at least not in its current state. It’s a great idea, but, as of now, MobileMe has too many flaws to keep its promises.

The Cupertino, Calif., company has been migrating its .Mac pay email service to an upgraded version, called MobileMe. But in doing so, it has run into problems including service outages and customers losing access to their accounts. It's the latest in a string of issues that have cropped up since the launch of the latest iPhone, an unusual turn for a company known for its attention to detail in its products and services.
Some MobileMe Users Still Without Email

So push e-mail isn't easy.
